Hamburger Heaven Bar

Achtung!!! Die Bar heißt jetzt Hamburger Kneipe und man bekommt nicht mehr das, was man erwartet.

Cooler Laden, innen mit Backsteinwänden und ausreichend Außenplätzen. Die Bedienung ist nett und freundlich! Auf der Karte gibt’s Bürger, Sandwiches & Steaks. Der Hamburger war lecker in Brioche-​Bun ohne jeglichen unnötigen Schnickschnack, ein leckerer Burger!

Ich war mit 20 anderen an einem Freitag Abend in dort. Es war alles ganz nett. Die Bedienung war freundlich, die Bestellung wurde zügig aufgenommen und die Bestellung kam in annehmbarer Zeit. Mehr positives kann ich aber leider gar nicht mehr schreiben. Leider.
Ich habe etwa 1,5h auf meinen BBQ-​Burger mit (Hausgemachten) Pommes gewartet. Irgend wann kamen die Burger auch nur noch einzeln aus der Küche. Gemeinsam essen war absolut nicht möglich. Es dauerte so lange, dass der letzte bereits fertig mit essen war, als der nächste Burger kam. Nicht einmal Tischweise konnte zusammen gegessen werden.
Leider gab es von der Bedienung auch keine bessere Auskunft als «kommt gleich». Nicht ein mal als ich als Letzter meinen Burger bekam gab es eine Entschuldigung oder so etwas.
Der BBQ-​Burger konnte auch nicht überzeugen. Den BBQ-​Geschmack habe ich leider vergeblich gesucht. Dafür hatten die Hausgemachten Pommes um so mehr Geschmack… sie trieften förmlich vor Fett.
Alles leider nicht überzeugend. Auch bei einer größeren Gruppe habe ich das schon viel besser erlebt.

Am Samstag war ich dort gewesen. Der Name ist allerdings nicht mehr «Hamburger Heaven Bar» sondern nur noch «M2 Bar». Küche und Personal sind allerdings die selben wie noch im vergangenen Jahr.
Wir wurden trotz vollem Haus schnell und freundlich bedient.
Es gab einen BBQ-​Burger, ein Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich und Pommes.
Die Pommes und die Saußen waren frisch selbst gemacht und genau richtig.
Der Burger ertrank nicht in Sauce, aber war trotzdem nicht trocken. Das Fleisch war saftig und innen noch zart rosa. So wie ich es liebe.
Das Sandwich war ein Traum. Könnte ich so jeden Tag essen. Das Fleisch war zart und wurden mit den Zwiebeln und dem Käse zu einem Traum zwischen Brot.
Das Lokal an sich, ist sehr gemütlich, besitzt einen abgetrennten Raucherbereich und ist mit den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln sehr gut zu erreichen.
Verwirrend ist momentan nur die Sache mit dem Namen, aber das wird wohl bald überall angepasst.
Ich komme definitiv gerne wieder.

Great burgers but there’s not a lot of people. Maybe if more people came they could change the interior so it wouldn’t look so… off-​putting. But the burgers are better than The Bird. But that’s just my opinion.

What a pleasant surprise the Hamburger Heaven was. Went in not expecting an awful lot to be honest; we’d popped in as it was in close proximity to a bar we were meeting friends in. It was dead upon entry, like a seen from a Sergio Leone flick, just the waitress looking across the bar and us looking back. For the briefest moment I wondered if they were shut but had forgotten to lock the door. Then she beamed a massive smile and we were away.
Their menu is great, made even better with a complimenting selection of biers. I had the Habanero chili burger and my dining partner had the Gorgonzola cheese burger. Both came medium-​rare. Both were fantastic.
The fries and coleslaw were both superb, the fries especially. Hand cut and I suspect double cooked (once in the frier, once in an oven).
I only have one criticism of the burgers we got, the salsa/​relish was really fresh from the fridge. It was very cold and while it worked fine with my burger it slowed the melting of the Gorgonzola. My recommendation would be to ask for it on the side.
Will go again.

Fantastic burgers! Two vegetarian ones which are great! The French fries are one of the best I’ve ever eaten. Amazingly good! Friendly staff! Great to sit outside during the summer. Little minus is that is usually takes quite some time to get the food. So come when you are in no rush.

Hamburger Heaven continues its winning streak with a sit-​down restaurant and full bar. They had a good head start on the new Bird location by a few months, but are now in direct competition.
My opinion? It’s better than The Bird. Yes, I said it, and I’m not the only American who thinks so. If you get a cheeseburger menu, both places will set you back around 11 EUR. You won’t go away hungry at either place, but my money is on the Heaven. It’s not without some setbacks, which is the only reason I don’t give them 5 stars. Fortunately, none of the setbacks are related to the food.
What you get: a burger that can hold its own among its real US counterparts. All-​homemade sauces.
What you don’t get: an English muffin for a bun (which would be laughed out of any US burger spot), tasteful décor, long queues.
The other reason for docking a star is that, like the Bird, the food is at least one euro overpriced. However, given that they are both upper-​tier burger establishments, it’s not outrageous for them to charge what they do. The Bird’s décor makes you feel less guilty for doing so, as it does have a much more American vibe. They win there, but Hamburger Heaven wins everything else.
Worst case scenario: Planned to go to The Bird but it’s mobbed with annoying loud Americans? Walk 5 minutes around the corner. You’ll be pleasantly surprised.
