Gilgamesch

Hier gibt es hausgemachten Schawarma Spieß, köstliche Saucen und frische Falafel, letzteres ist mein absoluter Favorit. Aber auch der Halloumi ist zu empfehlen! Außerdem hat mit dem Gilgamesch der erste gute Araber in und um die Greifswalder Straße aufgemacht. Eine absolute Bereicherung für den Kiez.

Als erstes, ich würde es mal lieber Imbiss mit Sitzmöglichkeit nennen. Gemütlichkeit kann hier auch nicht aufkommen, da ständig die Tür auf und zu geht und Essen to go bestellt wird. Ambiente, Gerüche, Lautstärke, Essen, war alles nicht so doll und obendrein wurden gewisse Personen nach dem Verzehr von nur! zwei! stücken Falafel, ganze! zwei! Tage lang durch Blähungen mit donnernden Entladungen geplagt. Daher vermute ich das die Zubereitung der Lebensmittel nicht besonders gastfreundlich ist, denn es ist wirklich nicht schwer und wenn man Falafel herstellt sollte man es wohl wissen, wie man diese darmfreundlich zubereitet.

Nice food, but nothing special or impressive.
As an Arab, I quite feel the restaurant tries to cater for European taste more than offering authentic taste, and I have to say I’ve eaten better Shawarma elsewhere.
That said, it’s still a nice place to fill your hunger if you’re nearby (Tip: try their «Dreierkombi», full belly guaranteed), but if I crave Lebanese/​Arab food, it won’t be the first place to come to mind.

in diesem restaurant gibts meiner Meinung nach die absolut besten schawarmas in berlin! das personal ist sehr freundlich und mit leidenschaft dabei, das lokal etwas zwischen Imbiss und restaurant wobei die Atmosphäre zum da essen einlädt. im Hintergrund läuft immer klassische Musik was irgendwie sympathisch ist. die preise sind sehr fair.

Da ich in der Nähe wohne esse ich hier gern mal auf die Schnelle was. Schawarma, Makali, Kibbe etc. sind hier ganz lecker, finde es aber auch nicht viel besser oder schlechter als bei ähnlichen Läden in der Gegend (El Rief, Zweistrom, usw.). Das Personal ist immer freundlich und bemüht, da aber alles frisch gemacht wird, kann es auch mal etwas länger dauern als wenn man sich nur einen schnöden Döner holt.

Lecker, gute Qualität (alles frisch) und bezahlbar. Am liebsten esse ich dort Makali im Brot — kann ich nur empfehlen

Falafel is very nice, fresh n crunchy! Plates are very delicious but the sandwich were sometimes a bit too dry for my tastebuds!
Ask for extra sauce. And the bread flavor for my taste is a bit too strong. Takes too much of the flavor from the filling!
Go for falafel here!

Das war für mich gerade eine Offenbarung. Die Mischung aus Imbiss, Café und Restaurant ist genau mein Geschmack. Und das Essen war auch gut. Spaß beiseite. Ich habe lange nicht mehr so gut gegessen und das Preis-​Leistungs-​Verhältnis ist meiner Meinung nach sehr gut.

Ich gehe hier mindestens einmal die Woche mittags mit den Kollegen essen. Die Gerichte sind immer super frisch und absolut lecker. Die Jungs hinter dem Tresen immer nett, egal wieviel los ist. Einen frischen Saft dazu und die Mittagspause ist perfekt. Einziges Manko: Die Lüftung scheint nicht immer richtig zu laufen, daher riecht es manchmal stark nach Fett.

This place is just amazing. They literally serve the best arab food I ever had in Germany :) I am going to Gilgamesch since the day of its opening –I live closeby and it is SUCH an amazing improvement for the neighborhood. Absolute recommendation to go there for everybody who’s kinda fed up of Döner Kepab (even though Berlin also has to offer some nice ones of these) ;)

We had the vegetarian Gilgamesh plate which was enough for the two of us. The food was one of the best arabic foods that I have ever had and the various sauces that came as side dish were also really tasty.

Wir sind gegen 12 Uhr ins Gilgamesch reingestolpert und wurden sofort sehr freundlich empfangen. Es gibt viel Platz und man kann sich auch hinsetzen, wenn einem nicht nach Take Away ist. Unsere Bestellung wurde schnell zubereitet und schmeckte sehr lecker.
Was mir besonders auffiel, ist die chillige Loungemusik. Da schmeckt es gleich noch besser.
Dieses Restaurant ist kein Platz für ein gemeinsames romantisches Dinner aber für den schnellen Imbiss zwischendurch definitiv zu empfehlen.

Yum OMG I love this place! I come here about once a week since it is right around the corner from where I live. It is such a wonderful little middle eastern restaurant with huge portions and great food. The chicken schawarma is perfectly marinated and the ingredients are fresh. One of my peeves about middle eastern restaurants is when the falafel is not served piping hot and crunchy. You certainly won’t find any of that nonsense here! I usually get the falafel/​halloumi combo plate. It comes with a ton of sides and several sauces and fills me up even for dinner on a day that I haven’t eaten. The best part is that it’s only 5 €! You must try this place out, it certainly won’t disappoint. Just make sure you don’t plan on having to go anywhere important after — their garlic sauce is delicious but potent.
