Toller ansprechnder Laden, hab ihn im letzten Sommer besucht und war total begeistert

This is a great restaurant for all visitors or else. Clean, nice, well décor, smell good (chocolate favor). The service is really excellent. Because I look like a children, my experience for many restaurant when I first walked in was not so nice. They don’t treat me like other customers. Yet, here, they took well care of every single customers. That was a big compliment. The cake or drink were both delicious. Im not a big fan of sweet things but this really made me eat whole things. Recommended !!!

Fassbender & Rausch heißt nun «Rausch Schokoladenhaus».
Die schokoladigen Köstlichkeiten gibt es unverändert.
Hier ist ganz schön Traffic, das Traditionshaus steht wohl in jedem Reiseführer!

Ich war schon oft in dieser Ecke, aber erst diesmal ist mir dieser Laden aufgefallen. Anderen wohl schon eher, wie die vielen Beiträge hier zeigen.
Das Brandenburger Tor, die Gedächtniskirche und vieles mehr aus Schokolade kann man hier bestaunen.
Pralinen in allen Varianten, erlesene Köstlichkeiten, hier kommt man (frau) ganz schön in Versuchung.
Im ersten Stock dann das Schokoladencafe. Auch hier kann man kleine Törtchen genießen.
Es gibt wohl auch DinnerMottoShows an festen Terminen. Diese kosten 79 EUR. (drinks not included). Was da genau geboten wird, weiß ich nicht, aber 79EUR ohne Getränke ist schon happig.
Verzehrt habe ich hier nichts, meiner Figur zuliebe leider verzichtet, mit tränenden Augen nur geschaut, aber das was ich gesehen habe, hat mir gut gefallen

DER Schokoladen in Berlin. Zumindest vom Namen her. Traditionsreiches Café, tolles Angebot an heißer Schokolade im 1. OG, leckere Kuchen dazu. Im EG natürlich DIE Touri-​Falle, trotzdem immer wieder sehenswert. Vor allem die ständig wechselnden Berlin-​Sehenswürdigkeiten in Schokolade. Ein Pflichtprogramm für meine Berlin-​Besucher… :-)

Don’t forget to reserve a table when you come. Otherwise plan on standing in line for at least 15 minutes. The chocolate is first class of course — a fact that you pay for. Be aware that you’re coming to a ritzy tourist destination, not a place where Berliners would spend their money.

A must-​stop of anyone who wants to experience chocolate artistry. Chocolate for all tastes: milk, dark, semi, white, whatever. World class. Chocolate sculptures in the shop window. Chocolate gifts of all kinds.
I sent many colleagues to Berlin for work and this place made the list of places I recommended that they visit, every time. If they dared return without a gift for me — shame on them! :)

Ich war mit meiner Schwiegermutter da und da habe ich den besten Schokoladenkakao meines Lebens getrunken.

Pretty expensive but definitely worth it! We got truffles and some regular chocolate as well as a torte to go. The torte was extremely decadent and definitely worth it! Highly recommend coming here also because they have cool chocolate model displays of some of the famous monuments in Berlin!

Eine gute Adresse, wenn man Besuch in der Stadt hat und was Exquisites für Naschkatzen bieten möchte. Zentrale Lage für anschließendes Sightseeing und das ein oder andere Mitbringsel kann gleich im Laden darunter erworben werden. Der Service ist tadellos und die Preise fair. Im Alltag suche ich andere Orte auf, aber wenn man mal Lust auf etwas Besonderes mit Schokolade hat…, dann gerne auch mal zur Weihnachtszeit z.B. eine Ente mit Schoki naschen und dann nebenan auf den Weihnachtsmarkt gehen.

The chocolate store downstairs is a treat for the eyes. Everything made out of chocolate — from Boeing airplane, to Titanic, and hundreds of options to choose from. Upstairs you can enjoy some food. The hot chocolate was just mind blowing, and the view out of the window upstairs while sipping the hot chocolate was priceless!

Absolut Sehenswert, im ersten Stock sehr schöné Atmosphäre mit Blick auf den Gendarmenmarkt. Ohne einen Blick nach außen könnte es auch in Wien sein :-)

¡¡PARAÍSO DE CHOCOLATE! No puedes dejar de venir a este sitio en tu visita a Berlín, que no, de verdad, y menos si eres un fanático del chocolate.
Nada más entrar ya te quieres dedicar a darle bocaos a cada escultura de chocolate que tengas a tu alcance, hay desde aviones, osos, zapatos de tacón, cestas y cestas de bombones, el barco de Titanic, la «Muela Picá», la Puerta de Brandemburgo… TODO DE CHOCOLATE. Eso sí, no mires los precios porque puede que se te baje el subidón de azúcar en un momento.
El sitio dispone de varias plantas, no recuerdo si dos o tres, pero nosotros estuvimos al menos en dos: la de abajo que es la tienda con todas esas esculturas, y la de arriba que es cafetería. No llegamos a comprar nada, pero sí subimos a la cafetería a merendar y probar los chocolates.
La definición exacta es muerte por chocolate: recomendación… no seaís ansias vivas de este placer al paladar porque podéis acabar con diabetes (es broma), pero la verdad es que me pedí varias minitartas de varios chocolates, todas tremendas, y un chocolate caliente enorme que además venía con cacao en polvo por encima y una barrita de chocolate puro para acompañar. Eso ya era exageración pura más que chocolate puro, pero aún así me lo comí todo y salí muy llena, más gorda, y con más azucar en sangre, pero también salí pletórica de felicidad.
Me pasé, lo reconozco, hay que moderarse y saber elegir bien (pedir carta en inglés porque si no no os vais a enterar de mucho), así que no soy muy buen ejemplo a seguir porque me chifla el chocolate, pero la experiencia es única.

Seriously amazing chocolate shop. A must when you go to Berlin. Even if you don’t like chocolate (weirdo) there’s so much to see and experience here that it is worth the visit.

Einfach nur super die kleinen Törtchen im F&R

The chocolates shop on the ground floor was way too pricey for this Kinder Bueno gal, but the displays are cool.
Upstairs, though, the café’s the jam. Haven’t tried the tartes and non-​drinks and don’t really intend to, but both the customizable hot chocolates and the milkshake-​y variants are great. The latter’s ever so slightly less rich, but both are outrageously indulgent.

I spent 100 € on chocolate. I could have spent more! There’s just so much everywhere, too much to choose from, so you really do walk out with a giant bag of goodies to bring home.
Quite delicious! Can’t really say more that hasn’t already been said. Definitely stop by if you’re in the area!

Die zentrale Lage am Gendarenmarkt führ4 dazu, dass hier virallem Touristengruppen durchgeschleust werde.
So ist auch das Feeling dort.
Das Ware ist zweifellos qualitativ ok, aber die Pärsentation gerade bei den Pralinen ist _​bestenfalls_​lieblos. Alles liegt in billiger Plastikblister-​Verpackungen aufeinander und ist nicht, wie man es sonst aus einem Süßwarenfa hgeschäft kennt, schön aufeinander ohne Plastik aufgestapelt.

Our server was super nice the hot chocolate was on point but my friend’s chocolate drink was too rich and too sweet … He couldnt even finish it
The tiramisu tarte was also very delicious and not too expensive. A lot of souvenirs are also very reasonably priced and look cute. The chocolate pralines are still subpar to those in Belgium or Switzerland though :(

Ein tolles Café und Restaurant!
Das sich im Erdgeschoß befindende Schokoladen-​Geschäft bietet eine große Variation an Schokolade in seiner verschiedensten Form.
Einzigartig, die aus Schokolade konstruierten Bauwerke verleihen dem Geschäft eine besondere Atmosphäre.
Das obige Café und Restaurant hat ebenfalls viel zu bieten.
Unbedingt Probieren: Die mit Schokolade verfeinerten Gerichte sind ein Muss für jeden Schokoladenliebhaber, aber auch eine einzigartige kulinarische Erfahrung.
Nicht nur Die Gerichte beeindrucken,
auch der tolle Ausblick auf den Gendarmenmarkt.

Great chocolate shop in a great location! Right around the corner from the Hilton Berlin and a few blocks away from Unter den Linden. I was on the hunt for some traditional German chocolate to bring home as gifts– this place was a great option for me because as it was open later than many of the other shops. They also have many giant Berlin landmarks made of real chocolate all over the shop– just the cherry on top. Great selection and large gift section. Highly recommend the truffles.

Mit dem Fahrstuhl ginge im Café nach kurzer Wartezeit haben wir einen Tisch bekommen. Wir haben uns eine leckere heisse Schockolade und diese kleinen Törtchen gegessen. Diese kann man nur empfehlen. Waren sehr sehr lecker. Mein Favorit ist das törtchen mit dem Marzipan.

Maravilhosas sobremesas e cafés divinos!!! Não muito barato mas vale muito a pena, ótimo lugar para um café em Berlim.

Ich war das erste mal in diesem Laden. Bin durch ein Familienmitglied dorthin geführt worden. Bei unserem Besuch war es erst noch nicht voll, aber als wir gingen war es propevoll. Wir haben jeder ein anderes Törtchen probiert und dazu Kaffee. Die Törtchen sehen klein aus, sind aber sehr sattmachend. Sie sind sehr lecker!
Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Tisch mit Blick zum Dom.
Danach haben wir uns noch im Verkaufsraum unten umgesehen. Gut das wir schon etwas gegessen hatten.

Berliner City, unweit der Friedrichstrasse, befindet sich das riesengroße Ladengeschäft der Berliner Chocolateur Fassbender und Rausch. Im Erdgeschoss ein Kaufhaus der süßen Verführungen. Hier ist alles zu haben, in allen möglichen Kreationen und Geschmacksrichtungen: Tafeln, Rohschokolade, Dessert, Pralinen, Trüffel, Drobs und sogar riesengroße Modelle Berliner Sehenswürdigkeiten aus Schokolade hergestellt kann der Besucher hier bewundern!
Leider ist das Geschäft stark überfüllt und es herrscht ein Gedrängel wie auf dem Rummelplatz. Die meisten Besucher sind Touristen und kommen zum Schauen und Staunen. Die Optik scheint für diese Kundschaft im Vordergrund zu stehen.
Mich interessiert aber auch der Geschmack und ich kaufe hier einige kleine Dinge aus Schokolade! Zu Hause der Test — ich war sehr zufrieden! Geschmacklich einfach nur Top!
Im Obergeschloss befindet sich auch ein Café im Schokoladenhaus. Bei meinem Besuchs-​Versuch war das Café total überfüllt mit Warteschlange stehen. Also Rückwärts wieder hinaus!
Wer auf gute Schololade steht, sollte das Kaufhaus des Glücks von Fassbender & Rausch unbedingt besuchen;-)

I love Fassbender and Rausch chocolates. When I’m in Berlin I try to come to the shop to pick up some stuff to take home (especially now they have stopped selling in supermarkets). Favs. include the 47% Costa Rican chocolate bars (which you can get from shops), the florentine bark (mmm YUM) and especially especially the super super thin chocolate… slices? bark? Not sure what to call it. They are the thinnest chocolate I’ve seen and hit the perfect snap/​morish spot.
The brandenburg tor makes fantastic gifts, though you can get that from the airport and save yourself a schlep (only if you don’t like chocolate yourself).

Sehr Touristisch… unhöfliches Personal (fast uninteressiert und nur fokussiert große Verkaufszahlen zu erreichen, drei Verkaufsmitarbeiter und eine Kellner könnte mir nicht sagen ob es tatsachlich Nussfrüchten in der Schokolade verarbeitet war)… und die Törtchen: eine ‘Schokolade Törtchen’ erwarte ich doch mehr Schokolade als Sahne… So: nur Masse, nur Fabrikswaren… viel Tamtam um eigentlich durchschnittliche Sachen, es gibt besseres in Berlin…

Der Fassbender & Rausch Laden ist ein reines Erlebnis. Im unteren Bereich befindet sich der Verkauf mit tollen Sehenswürdigkeiten in Schokolade nachgebaut. Alles sehr klassisch und schön eingerichtet.
Über einen Fahrstuhl im hinteren Ladenteil kommt man ins erste OG. Hier befindet sich das F&R Restaurant. Wir hatten Schokotörtchen die auf den ersten Blick klein wirkten, wenn man dann aber anfängt zu essen merkt man wie satt diese machen. Die Trinkschokolade wird zusammen mit einem kleinen Wassergläschen gereicht. Das ist wirklich super um den Geschmack im Mund immer wieder zu neutralisieren.
Es gibt auch verschiedene Hauptgerichte mit Fleisch und Schokolade. Die müssen sich bis zum nächsten Besuch gedulden. :-)
Fazit: TOP Laden sollte man definitiv mal auf einen Kaffee… pardon Schokolade hin. :-D

Teuer und irgendwie nichts Besonderes. Riesige Auswahl an Pralinen, aber bei keiner jubelt das Herz, resp die Zunge. Die Einrichtung oben immer noch wir eine Kantine. Es fehlt einfach Charme und Witz hier. Aber zum last minute Geschenke besorgen ist es super…

This was a lovely shop and a lot of fun to visit. Adored all the chocolate statues. We were there twice and the shop was very busy. The checkout personnel were a bit short with us and that took away from the festive feeling. The patries were delicious and the chocolate divine.

Wow, this place is a chocolate wonderland. Even if you don’t buy anything (which is almost impossible) it’s fun to see what chocolatiers have been able to do with renditions of the Brandenburger Tor, big Berlinese Bear, and other cocoa-​pedigreed works of art.

It was great food. I want to go for their full menu again!

Das Café ist absolut unschlagbar.
Jedes einzelne Törtchen ist optisch und geschmacklich ein absolutes Gedicht.
Das Ambiente ist einladend und die Servicekräfte sind so höflich, dass es einem schon fast unangenehm ist.
Bei jedem meiner zahlreichen Berlinbesuche ein absolutes Muss.

Wir haben den großen Fehler gemacht dort Abendbrot zu essen. Die Öffnungszeiten hätten uns darauf aufmerksam machen sollen. Denn es hat nur bis 19 Uhr auf… Die Hauptspeisen hören sich erstmal gut an aber sie sind recht teuer. Wir hatten eine halbe Languste mit Gemüse auf Tagliatelle mit Trüffeln: Die Languste konnte man total vergessen, hart zäh und fusselig der Sud war so ölig, man wollte nicht aufessen. Eigentlich eine tolle Zusammensetzung die leider nicht gut umgesetzt wurde und 22,50 € teuer war. Auch die Rindersteaks, kann man als 1 cm dünne scheibchen nicht anbieten… Für knapp 19 €. Alles in Allem brauch man nicht zum dinner in das Restaurant gehen. Es ist auf das Kaffee Geschäft ausgelegt… und dafür gehen wir gerne wieder hin

Can I move in here and gorge on 80% dark chocolate (starting at only 0.90 E for a stick and under 3 E for a 100g bar) and boxes of marzipan (10 – 12 E) while staring at the chocolate models of the Bradenburger Tor and Berlin Wall all day?
They have cute shapes of chocolate too, which are great for gifts. If only I could fit the large chocolate motorcycle in my luggage. Had to opt for the more space-​economical bears. They also have lady bugs, Porches, Volkswagens, and mini Brandenburger Tors.

Heute mal wieder dort gewesen und immer noch großartig! Diesmal eine neue Freundin dorthin mitgeschleppt und Sie war begeistert! :)
Diesmal hatte ich die Trinkschokolade Orange und meine Freundin Crema und die drei Törtchen (siehe Foto) haben wir uns geteilt.

This is a great place to go and splurge on a unique cuisine. The food is great and they don’t overdo it with the chocolate… but it definitely is rich and indulgent because of the hints of chocolate so be prepared! My husband got a soup (forget the name) but it had a curry taste and exotic fruit and hints of dark chocolate. Absolutely scrumptious! Our main entrees of the filets of sea bass and lobster stew were good too. We ended by splitting a chocolate mousse torte… highly recommend to split dessert if you do an entire meal there or else it may feel like chocolate overload.

DEFINITELY GET THE HOT CHOCOLATE! The best I’ve ever had in my life — it was so rich and creamy and not too sweet. The view over Gendarmenmarkt is also fabulous…

Teuer, touristisch, trotzdem bleibt F&R das Schokoladenparadies. PS probiert mal die Torten/​Kuchen im Restaurant im ersten Stock: lecker!

Fassbender & Rausch is a great place! We visited in August 2015 during our weekend in Berlin and we were pleasantly surprised! The store is great and has an enormous variety of chocolate products (figures, desserts, cakes, pralines, barks, thins, bars etc). We also visited the chocolate café, the cakes were amazing as well as the mint hot chocolate.

I guess I like my chocolate a little more refined. And what I mean by that is I prefer it to be more silky. I found this chocolate to be a bit gritty.
However, the first floor with all the chocolate sculptures was quite a bit of fun to look at.
BTW, you can pretty much get anything from the first floor as you would from the second floor if you are just looking for chocolate.
But for the money, I think it’s overpriced (at least in the restaurant).

The desserts weren’t as disappointing as the service.
Our walking tour of Berlin made a stop by this chocolate shop and he recommended we come back for a quick bite. Three hours later we found ourselves at a table overlooking the square. The service however didn’t match the view.
First off, he took a long time to ever come by our table. When placing our order, he was obviously annoyed we only ordered one drink, despite ordering multiple desserts. He brought over the wrong dessert initially and we politely replied we ordered something else. He responded with a sarcastic, «Are you sure?» When we asked for the check, he dropped it off at the table, bluntly said, «Service not included» and walked away. He was just so rude and inconsiderate the whole time.
The desserts weren’t that bad, although not life changing either. We ordered the tray of chocolates and a Mozart Symphony. The chocolates were good, although three of them tasted exactly the same despite having completely different shapes. The other dessert was an interesting mix of nutty and chocolatey, although I think I would pass next time.

Second visit was just as great as the first!!!
This time I tried the mini chocolate mousse tort with gold leaf and a half and half mocha. Lucky to get a table today as the place was jammed. Had a lovely view over the Gendarmenmarkt from our table.
This place will make you drooool!

If you love chocolate then this place would be your nirvana. Floor to ceiling with truffles, chocolate, tea, sweets, drinking chocolate and all other manner of sweet goodness. Second floor café allows you to sample the cakes etc. The tiramusu torte and my rum drinking chocolate were amazing. Got some treasures yo take home. Glad we took the time to visit.

The store is really fun, even if you just want to look around. A great place to bring visitors as it’s right next the beautiful Gendarmenmarkt Square. They have many Berlin landmarks made out of chocolate in an impressive scale.
The chocolate is fancy but not too expensive. They sell a huge variety and the few I’ve had are very, very good. The white chocolate is amazing. I’m not a marzipan fan but theirs is delicious, plus so many great souvenirs!
If you have time, go upstairs and have some cake and a beverage. The line can be long even on a weekday but there are many seats and quick turn over so don’t be discouraged. Get a hot chocolate and some cake. They are truly amazing, probably best to share because it gets to be a lot. The hot chocolate is rich but not too sweet and there are many options for flavors.

Hier kann sich der Schoko-​Freak die volle Dröhnung geben! Hingehen und schauen bzw. staunen bzw. kosten bzw. genießen bzw. hin-​und-​weg-​sein!

Bei unserem letzen Berlin Besuch haben wir den Tipp bekommen, das wir uns die Schokoladenmanufaktur unbedingt anschauen sollen. Sowohl das Geschäft unten im EG als auch das Restaurant im OG. Da dort sehr viel Betrieb ist, muss man auch mal mit einer längeren Wartezeit rechnen. Wir haben selten so gute Schokoladentörtchen probiert. Die sehen aus wie kleine Kunstwerke und sind extrem lecker. Auch zum trinken gibt es Schokolade. Ist auch der pure Genuss. Für das Geschäft im EG sollte man sich allerdings Zeit nehmen, denn da gibt es so viel Variationen das einem teils der Mund offen stehen bleibt. Wer nicht widerstehen kann, muss kaufen. Auch wenn es nicht gerade so günstig ist, ein Traum dennoch, auch zum Verschenken eine tolle Idee.

Von drei Törtchen hat mir einer am leckersten gechmeckt. Und zwar das
Himbeer-​Törtchen ummantelt mit weisser Schokolade!
Die weißen Schokostäbchen habe ich jedoch weggelassen, weil die Konsistenz der Schokolade eher rau war.
Wir haben die Törtchen draußen auf der Bank gegessen, weil ich wir das Café im 1. Stock nicht soooo gemütlich fanden.

Toller Laden im EG und ein nettes Café im 1. OG mit Blick auf die Döme des Gendarmenmarktes. Die heiße Orangenschokolade und die kleinen weißen Schokotörtchen: teuer aber göttlich.
Die Bedienung kennt sich auch mit der Karte und den Details der Törtchen und Heißgetränke aus und kann tatsächlich sinnvoll beraten. Der hohe Preis war es wert. Die Atmosphäre ist auch spitze!

Well worth a visit for any chocolate lover. There is a beautiful showroom and retail shop on the main floor, then you can take the glass elevator (very Willy Wonka) to the upper level restaurant and café for a meal or ice cream treat.
This is not bargain basement chocolate, so not the best place to have your kids shop to their heart’s content. But as a chocolate emporium it was absolutely lovely.
Highlights were definitely the structures of famous Berlin landmarks as well as animals, volcanoes, airplanes, etc. which were made out of chocolate and wafers. Every where you looked, you see another cool object.
When in Paris, I absolutely loved seeing all the macaroons lined up in the bakery cases. At Fassbender & Rauch, they welcome you to their ‘praline paradise’ with 200 different types of pralines available in the world’s longest praline counter. Kind of overwhelming and extraordinary at the same time.

Ruhige Atmosphäre, unbedingt eine Schokolade trinken, zB mit Orange oder Rum oder Pur.

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN TO GERMAN CHOCOLATE HEAVEN? This is the place. You must visit this shop if you’re ever in Berlin. Any kind of chocolate you can think of and it is ALL SO DELICIOUS. We came in December and the entire store was decked. just like the entire country because Germans love Christmas. It really made the entire shopping experience even more festive. which means we might have went overboard in shopping but we do no regret it.
Get the basic chocolate square flakes. Chocolate at its OG state without any added flavors. I also got a variety pack in a beautiful cardboard chest to bring back to the office as souvenirs. My husband got a customized assorted box of truffles, where the lovely friendly lady helped us pick out. There are so many options. What type of chocolate? Ganache? Truffle? Praline? Fruity? Alcoholic? Coffee? Savory? All of the above?
After tasting chocolate from this shop, you can just throw all those Hershey bars away. On another level, people!
Also, stop by the café on the second floor. Try to catch the daily lunch/​afternoon special. DO NOT leave this place without having a hot chocolate.

Bei meinem zehnten Berlin-​Besuch seit März 2012 war es jetzt so weit: Der Verlockung, am Gendarmenmarkt auch mal zu Fassbender & Rausch zu gehen, könnte ich nicht mehr widerstehen.
Das nach eigenen Angaben größte Schokoladenhaus der Welt, das auch am Sonntag geöffnet hat, erwartet den Besucher mit einem edlen Ambiente und einer riesigen Produktauswahl. Die eigene Produktpalette des Hauses ist fast schon zu breit — ich glaube, bei der Hälfte der Produktauswahl hätte ich vielleicht das Doppelte ausgegeben. Doch vermutlich möchte man, dass es nicht beim einmaligen Erstbesuch bleibt. Sei es Tafelschokolade, sei es Blockschokolade, seien es lose Pralinen, seien es Pralinenmischung… Wer hier nicht fündig wird, dem ist wohl nicht zu helfen.
Ein klares Highlight sind die aus Schokolade nachgebauten Sehenswürdigkeiten wie Gedächtniskirche, Brandenburger Tor und Reichstag.
Eigentlich wollte ich hier ja nur schauen *rofl* Das gibt wieder Schimpfe wegen der Fülle der Mitbringsel — aber ich stand dort im Laden und konnte nicht anders.

De passage à Berlin, c’est presque une étape indispensable.
C’est d’abord un plaisir pour les yeux, car la boutique est immense et présentent de belles oeuvres tout en chocolat.
C’est ensuite un plaisir gustatif, car le chocolat y est proposé sous toutes ses formes et saveurs.
Il est juste impossible de né pas craquer et repartir sans avoir fait un petit achat compulsif. Il faut dire que le packaging et l’aménagement de la boutique sont bien pensés pour nous faire acheter, faibles que nous sommes à ce genre de gourmandises.
Les chocolats sont divins, pour peu qu’on y mette le prix. Sur certains produits, il faut faire la part des choses entre ce qui relève vraiment de l’artisanat et ce qui peut s’apparenter à du semi-​industriel.

Im 1 OG über der Chocolaterie befinden sich mehrere klassische Café-​Räumlichkeiten.
Schöné Aussicht auf den Gendarmen-​Platz und Touristen-​Getümmel. Innendruck herrscht allerdings eine eher nüchterne als pompöse Atmosphäre.
4 Sterne für Location — perfekt geeignet für Pause beim Sightseeing.
Bedienung
Wie es sich in einem traditionellen Kaffee-​Kuchen-​Café gehört, gibt es mehrere Kellner, natürlich höchst professionell und in weißen Hemden, dunklen Hosen/​Röcken bekleidet. Bedienung ist nett und freundlich.

Es gibt wohl auch ein paar Gerichte aus deftiger Ecke, allerdings ist das Café auf Kuchen, Küchlein, Pralinés und weitere Süßigkeiten spezialisiert. Deswegen geht man schließlich hin.

Auf jeden Fall eine der hervorragenden Teink-​Schokoladen-​Varianten probieren! Wer was anderes bestellt, verpasst ganz entschieden sein Schlemmer-​Glück.

This is chocolate lovers’ dream shop. You can scan the store upon walking in and see at least 4 different chocolate sculptures, ranging from 2 feet to 6 feet tall, of various Berlin landmarks. Resist the urge to bite into any of them, as they keep the air laden with the smell of chocolate. As a chocolate lover, find some indulgences for yourself. As a visitor, this is an easy place to find gifts for the chocoholics in your life.
The store itself looks like a larger version of those miniature village shops that you see as decorations around Christmastime. It’s quaint and traditional, but solidly upscale. You’ll find a wide variety of dark (bitter), milk (vollmilch), and white (weisser) chocolate. They do a LOT of varieties with pralines, as well as a great selection of chocolate models — there’s the obligatory Berlin landmarks, like the Reichstag building or the Brandenberg Gate, or something a little more whimsical like a high heel or a racecar. Don’t miss the deli-​like counter where you can create your own collection of truffles, or get pieces of what look like peanut brittle but is actually made with caramelized almonds and chocolate.
There is a café on the second floor, but we stayed on the first level where the shop is.
The staff is friendly and helpful, and speaks English as you might expect in this tourist-​heavy district. It’s definitely worth the stop to indulge your sweet tooth!

This was the first thing I saw in the morning and the last place I saw at night from my hotel room across the street. As a chocoholic, this meant trouble… in a very good way!
They have an amazing assortment of chocolates. The store is big and is full of sweet treats. Hansel and Gretel would be delighted to be here. They have models of Berlin monuments, cupid, airplanes… all made of chocolate!
They have individually wrapped candies that you can mix and match. You can also customize a box with whatever bon bons and truffles that you want in whatever size box. I did a few boxes of hazelnut chocolates. Whatever chocolate they had that contains hazelnut went in all 4 big boxes. I also got 1kg of dark chocolate with hazelnut bark and 1kg of milk chocolate with hazelnut bark — they were whole hazelnuts held on together with a big of chocolate so, you get more nuts than chocolate.
They also have this unbelievable Florentine that was absolutely delightful. Crisp, light and not very sweet. The best I’ve had.
As if I didn’t have enough chocolates, I also got bars of milk chocolate with layers of hazelnut cream in between. So soft and creamy. You can freeze it if you don’t want a soft, melty, gooey mess.
You just can’t walk out of this store without getting anything. I was here about twice a day while in Berlin.

This place was horrible.
It was horrible for my wallet. It was horrible for my waistline. It was horrible when it came time to hit the hotel fitness center in the evening. Everything here is delicious. And they gave us free samples.
And then there’s that misleadingly beautiful elevator to what they call the Chocolate-​café upstairs. Oh… you think the Chocolate-​café at a famous German chocolatier would just be a quaint dessert shop — perhaps some gelato or coffees and cakes generously garnished with chocoalte, maybe an eiskaffee — but it’s a fricken full sit down restaurant and it’s delicious. A completely seasonal menu and most of the dishes, of course, feature chocolate in some way.
I’d like to point out that having decided to splurge on accomodations by staying at the Hilton Berlin right next door did not help us restrain our visits to Fassbender & Rausch in the few days we were here. And here come the chocolate sweats…

Das Pflaster rund um Berlins Gendarmenmarkt gehört gemeinhin ja eher nicht zum preiswerten der Stadt. Aber unter der Woche lockt die gehobene Gastronomie mit durchaus preisgünstigen Mittagstisch-​Angeboten. Gewöhnlich eher zurückhaltend mit dem Besuch von teuren Restaurants, nutzten wir diesen Umstand und nahmen bei Fassbender und Rausch Platz. Eine gute Wahl! So wie im Hamburger «Wasserschloss» alles unter Zuhilfenahme von Tee zubereitet wird, ist’s bei F&R die gute alte Schokolade und die ist wirklich überall dran.
Wir kraxeln in den ersten Stock und nehmen an einem der Tische Platz. Weiße Tischwäsche, Stoffservietten und schönes Tafelsilber. Sofort kommt ein Brotkorb an den Tisch geflogen, Kreation des Hauses — natürlich mit Schokolade. Der Putensalat hat eine wunderbar ausgefallene Note und ist extrem lecker — dank der Schokolade. Na, und weil Schokolade nun mal das Thema bei F&R ist, bestellen wir als Dessert eine heiße Schokolade und einen Schokoladenlikör. Köstlich alles!
Der Preis ein Schnäppchen bei diesem Ambiente: knapp über einen Zehner!
Im Laden im Erdgeschoss kann sich der Gourmet nunmehr mit allem rund um Schokolade eindecken. Von der schnöden Tafel Schokolade bis hin zu raffinierten Pralinen-​Kreationen reicht das Angebot. Schokolade in unermesslichen Geschmacksrichtungen und prächtige Präsentarrangements machen das Stöbern zu einem tollen Berlin-​Erlebnis.
Ich nehme mir glatt eine massive Chili-​Schokoladenkugel mit — in dezenter Dosierung feinst geraspelt der Bringer in der häuslichen Küche und eine Bereicherung jeden Salates oder Saucen.
Nicht nur Kinder bekommen große Augen angesichts der Schokoladenmeisterwerke, die die Schaufenster zieren: hier das Brandenburger Tor in XXL-​Format und dort der Dom, nicht minder ausgewachsen.
Fast möchte man eine Ecke abbrechen und direkt hinein beissen!
