Wirklich ein Original — Restaurant, zwar etwas abseits von der Pannierstr. — aber unglaublich freundliches Personal und wirklich gutes Essen!

Ordered some food from here via Foodora, was extremely disappointing — couldn’t eat more than a few bites before throwing it all away. The texture of the meat was mushy and it smelled and tasted far from fresh. Same for the hummus, which had way too much lemon in it (I guess to conserve it and hide the fact that it wasn’t freshly made). Worst of all the rice — the one thing you’d expect most places to get right. In fact it had a lot of wheat vermicelli in it (not mentioned on the menu), meaning with my gluten allergy I could not even touch the rice.

Being an Egyptian myself, this is my go-​to place whenever I crave Egyptian food. The restaurant is a cosy, friendly, family-​owned place offering authentic, home-​made Egyptian dishes for ridiculously good prices.
The portions are great and the taste is not really different from what I’d eat back home with my family, and for those who might not be much into Egyptian food, the restaurant also offers Italian dishes, but I have never tried them though.
On the downside, quality is inconsistent. One day the food is mind-​blowing, the other it’s just not good.
Nevertheless, still recommended.
