Airberlin Exklusiver Wartebereich

Der Bereich im Hauptterminal ist deutlich größer ausgefallen als der Wartebereich im Anbau im neuen Terminal. Das Angebot ist mehr oder weniger identisch — angenehme Sitzgelegenheiten, Getränke, Zeitschriften und die Möglichkeit, den Laptop oder das Telefon aufzuladen.
Die Wege sind ein wenig kürzer und die Übersicht, wann die Flüge abgehen besser (im C-​Bereich kann man das schon mal verpassen, wenn man abgelenkt ist und arbeitet).
Doch bei allem Lob: Braucht man das wirklich?

Air Berlin hat sich wirklich Mühe gegeben einen schönen Bereich zu gestalten. Hier bekommt man Kaffee und frische Getränke gratis. Auch alle gängigen Tageszeitungen und Zeitschriften liegen aus. Zugang nur über TopBonus Status mindestens Silber.

This is an example of bad service. Checking in was efficient. I asked the Air Berlin staff where’s the lounge. She gave me the «deer in the head light look» then directed me to another airline. Finally some one told me an Air Berlin waiting area, which is no more than a room with some table and chairs, and a vending machine to drinks. It is nothing like the photos.
I thought Air Berlin, I.e. Berlin means this is their headquarter so there must be great facility… WRONG!
After some googling, I found British Air has a lounge. I ventured and found BA lounge in Terminal A :)))
I also walked pass the Lufthansa large Senator and first class lounge. I did have a second thought about switching flight.
My recommendation is fly BA or Lufthansa.
