Schloß-Café Himperich

Come Christmas time people can get a little stressed out on both sides of the counter, especially when it gets busy. When I was doing last minute shopping for our work christmas hampers I rushed down to Café Wolfgang Himperich for the final touches, as I had walked past here many times and thought that the place looked so cosy, and the food always mouth wateringly delicousand from the people in there I dont think I was the only one with this impression of the place. Filled with other christmas shoppers as well as diners the place was full, but didnt feel busy at all. The staff were all composed and relaxed, and consequentially so was everyone else. Despite the fact my German is very limited and no one behind the counter spoke english, they were still incredibly helpful and accomodating to my requests (and they got the gist of my broken german so cudos to them!). I bought some of the christmas baked goods, and the feedback from those that have already consumed the fruits of their christmas hampers has been that they were delicious, in particular the weinachtsterne. So next time you are wondering down the streets of sleepy old Bensberg make sure you drop in for a cup of coffee and try the delicious baking, or grab some for afternoon tea later at home.

Das Café Himperich ist ein traditionelles und seit Jahrzehnten in Bensberg ansässiges Café.
Allerdings bedeutet dies nicht, dass es sich nicht forentwickelt hat; im Gegenteil: Seit einiger Zeit wird in der dazu gehörenden Konditorei nun auch Schokolade selbst hergestellt und macht Schokoladen/​Süßigkeitenläden so ernsthafte Konkurrenz.
Neben den Kuchen ist auch das Mittagsmenü sehr empfehlenswert. Es beinhaltet ebenfalls ein Getränk (Kaffee). Dazu sei gesagt, dass das Mittagsangebot meistens eher deftig ist.
Ansonsten gibt es aber auch Salate, die sehr gut schmecken.
Im Verhältnis zu Größe des Cafés gibt es recht viele Bedienungen, so dass auf die Wünsche der Gäste schnell reagiert werden kann und wird.
