This is one of my favorite Rewe locations in Germany. Why? Cause you always remember your first. It’s a super market that sells pretty much anything. Fresh fruits and veggies, meats and dairy, cereal and juices, fresh baked breads and sweets, cigarettes, personal hygiene items and chocolates, lots of chocolates. So many varieties. It’s open till 9 or 10 depending on the night which means it may be the only place I can get a cheap bottle of booze. The name of this market is tricky since the«w» sounds like a «v» in German. My friends and I didn’t realize that and we’ve been calling it re-we. It’s caught on though, cause our German partner now calls it like that. I asked why, she said it sounds nicer. It’s really pronounce like«river». Rewe is a staple store in all of Germany. You will find multiple ones in the same small town within blocks of each other. Kind of like Walgreen’s in Chicago except they don’t sell drugs.
